Dr. Johnson has been practicing facial plastic surgery since 1975. He is the founder of the Hedgewood Surgical Center, located in his hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana. His undergraduate years were spent at Yale University and Tulane University. Following a five year residency in the Tulane Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, Dr. Johnson completed a fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery under the tutelages of Dr. Richard Webster of Boston and Dr. Walter Berman of Beverly Hills. He is board certified by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and by American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery.
Dr. Johnson's private practice is limited to facial cosmetic surgery. He is well known as the senior author of the innovative textbook Open Structure Rhinoplasty, The Aging Face, and A Case Approach to Open Structure Rhinoplasty. Dr. Johnson was recognized in the November 2000 issue of W Magazine as one of the top five rhinoplasty surgeons in the world.
Dr. Johnson is an internationally recognized surgeon and teacher. He is a Fellowship Preceptor in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery under the auspices of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS), and a clinical Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, Tulane School of Medicine. In addition, Dr. Johnson is a member of the American College of Surgeons, The American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, The American Medical Association, The Louisiana State Medical Society, and The American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. Johnson's office is located on the first floor of Hedgewood Surgical Center, a restored Victorian residence on St. Charles Avenue in New Orleans.
